Artificial Intelligence (also known as AI) is today’s technology developed to emulate human intelligence or behavior. AI has become one of the most groundbreaking developments of the 21st century and is expected to make a major mark in the years to come. It is a field of computer science which includes algorithm development, robotics, natural language processing, and machine learning. AI covers multiple realms of scientific research and is already being deployed in many ways-from self driving cars, to voice recognition tools, online personal assistant, automated customer service, robotic hospital assistants, smart home control systems, and more. AI uses computer algorithms and machine-learning techniques to analyze data faster and with more accuracy than an individual can. Due to its immense data analytical capabilities, AI enables us to gather and analyze massive data sets, allowing us to uncover patterns and trends that may not be visible to the human eye. AI can interpret data from various sources-from medical records to customers’ behavior, stock prices to weather forecasts, and more. This gives us a much better understanding of various phenomena, leading to better decision-making. AI is also increasingly employed in saving human lives. Smart sensors and computing are used in medical devices, in order to better detect illnesses and injuries in patients and send appropriate notifications and treatment suggestions to doctors. Similarly, AI is also used in safety systems in cars and airplanes- not only improving efficiency but also saving lives. By employing AI, machines and humans can become more interconnected, leading to more efficient production. AI enabled robots are being used to automate tasks, allowing us to make more and better products in shorter periods of time. AI has certainly changed the world for better. In the future we can expect AI to take over more and more mundane everyday tasks, thus freeing up humans to pursue more creative endeavors. AI also has the potential to provide a more personalized experience for customers and improved healthcare. The scope of AI is limited only by our own imaginations.
