Biography:
Silvana Iskandar is a third-year medical student at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Neuroscience from UCLA, earning highest departmental and college honors. At UCLA, she conducted research on neuromodulation in spinal cord injury and peripheral nerve palsy, including a year-long study on transcutaneous stimulation. She plans to pursue neurology and is passionate about clinical ethics, global health, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Silvana has presented research on blood volume measurement and contraceptive decision-making, and contributes to publications on blood substitutes. She also volunteers as a medical singer and Arabic translator.
